Hawston residents would have noticed that the period between water readings on their latest municipal accounts are more than 30 days. The reasons for this are that there was a public holiday in September and then there was the storms during the same time that caused delays with meter readings resulting in the meters being read on average 8 to 11 days later.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused as we do try to ensure that the days between meter readings do not exceed the average number of days in a month. However, sometimes, as in this case, it was not possible.
The public is once again reminded that they are welcome to approach the Municipality should they experience any difficulties with the payment of their accounts.
Residents are also reminded that, even though there was no water available during the week following the storm resulting in zero usage, this will only be reflected in the November account, as the meters were read during this time.
