Applications for admission for the Chrysalis Academy’s youth development and leadership programme will open on 3 June 2024.
Chrysalis facilitates two male and one female course per year over three months. This intake will be for 24 Charlie (males).
All applications for admission must be submitted online. Handwritten forms will not be accepted.
The youth who apply, will be required to create a SA Youth Mobi profile, or update their existing profile via the www.chrysalisacademy.org.za link. This is a data free app and the youth will not incur any data cost and/or need data to go online. The application system will close automatically after 500 applications.
For those who need help with the registration and to fill out the online form, Overstrand Municipality will be providing support in the following areas:
- 3 June 2024 in Gansbaai at the Tourism Centre from 09:00 – 15:00
- 4 June 2024 in Kleinmond at the Proteadorp Community Half from 09:00 – 15:00
- 3, 4 and 5 June 2024 in Hermanus at the Old Ambulance Building in 9 Magnolia Street (opposite Hermanus Primary School) from 07:45 – 16:30.
Those interested in joining the Academy need to be between the ages of 18 and 25 years and be a resident of the Western Cape. They also need to have passed Grade 9, be unemployed, not be attending school or be busy with education or training, have no criminal records and drug-free. Should candidates test positive for any form of drug during the course, they will not be allowed to continue with the course.
Applicants need to submit a certified copy of their identity document, proof of address and their most recent school report. Two I.D. photos and banking details must also be submitted.
