Please note that the municipality is aware of numerous potholes in streets across the Overstrand.
The prevalence of potholes has been exacerbated by the continuous heavy rains over the last number of weeks. As the roads need to be dry before potholes can be permanently fixed, the holes will be temporarily filled with gravel until the weather improves.
The public is urged to report potholes in their areas using the Collab Citizen App or by phoning the respective municipal offices.
The potholes in 7th Street in Voëlklip seem to be created by the stormwater undermining the gravel layers. The municipal engineers are in contact with the District Roads Engineer to discuss and implement corrective actions.
Stream Street in Pringle Bay is another recurring issue after heavy rains. Once again, the municipal engineers are aware of this and is currently working on plans to increase the stormwater capacity in this area.
The work on the storm water channel in Long Street at the entrance of Golden Harvest in Sandbaai is ongoing.
Further information will be shared with the residents here as soon as the plans are finalised.
