Overstrand Municipality Addresses phone issues and encourages the use of the Collab Citizen App for service requests

Overstrand Municipality has recently upgraded its telecommunications system, and while most issues have been addressed, there have been some growing pains.

Residents may have experienced issues such as:

  • Call drops
  • Call delays
  • Audio problems where callers cannot hear each other
  • Difficulty dialling out to some external numbers

Our IT Department has worked with the service provider to resolve these problems and residents calling the municipality should now experience improved service.

With higher call volumes expected, especially during peak visitor seasons, we encourage residents to use the Collab Citizen app to report and track service requests.

The Collab Citizen app offers convenient tools for users, allowing service requests to be made from anywhere in the world. For example, you can book a tanker service a few days before your arrival without needing to make a phone call. The app is available for download on the Google Play Store, Apple App Store, and Huawei AppGallery.
