On 4 May 2023, Overstrand Executive Mayor, Dr Annelie Rabie and her team will join Western Cape Premier Alan Winde for his Open Government First Thursday event in Hermanus.

This initiative is part of the Premier’s outreach to communities outside Cape Town and will start at 17:00 in the Overstrand Municipal Auditorium and Banqueting Hall in Hermanus.

Mayor Rabie encourages residents and business owners to come and meet Premier Winde and his Cabinet, in person, to discuss challenges and/or to raise any concerns that is not the mandate of local government.

This will typically include the need for more schools and education, transport, the environment or crime, provincial main roads (like the R43), ambulance services and clinics, to name but a few.

Remember, this is not a public meeting with a speech and/or questions and answers.

No appointment is needed as the sessions will be conducted on a first come, first serve basis. Sessions are kept brief in order to accommodate as many people as possible. Each person will be able to engage with them in 10 minute face-to-face meetings.
