We are super excited to announce that the Overstrand Municipality’s Collab Citizen App was officially launched at the Council meeting on 28 June 2023.
It had been planned to launch the App during July 2022, but development was hindered by stability issues experienced. When this was resolved, a decision was made to do a soft launch of the App, which meant sneaking the App into the market and, through its usage by a few members of the public, we could actively measure and address any shortcomings in our ability and readiness to support the app and the stability of the app, before we do the big launch to the members of our Public.
During this time, we were also able to develop and test functionality on the app for not only individuals to log service requests, but also for service requests, specific to businesses, to be logged.
This will assist with resolving issues raised by businesses in a timely and cost-effective way and will provide information that can lead to improvements in service delivery. The amount of red tape and bureaucracy faced by business when dealing with government is considered a key constraint to economic development and growth.
The Overstrand Collab Citizen App gives access to users to:
- Log service requests
- Log and track service requests
- Read all the latest news in the area
- Read service disruption notifications
- Find emergency contact numbers
- Choose which channels to subscribe to depending on interests and location
The mobile application is fully functional for Android and iOs devices. To download the Collab Citizen App, go to your phone’s app store (Google Play Store, iOs Ap Store or Huawei App Gallery) and search for Collab Citizen App.
