Over the past few days, following an article published in a local newspaper, Overstrand Executive Mayor, Dr Annelie Rabie and some councillors have been inundated with requests for comment on recent court applications regarding construction of the Poole’s Bay section of the Hermanus Cliff Path.
Both cases, in which Overstrand Municipality has been cited as a respondent, are currently before the court and must be allowed to run its course.
Overstrand Municipality remains resolute in its adherence to the Rule of Law. The administration must remain impartial in respect of the matter and will therefore refrain from engaging on the topic until the court cases are finalises.
In view of the above, the public is requested to please refrain from contacting the Mayor, councillors and/or the administration on the Cliff Path matter.
Be assured that the Municipality will continue to serve the community’s interests in its handling of this matter.
