Following a press release from DA Western Cape Leader, Mr Tertuis Simmers, Executive Mayor Rabie confirmed that she will step down from her role, effective 01 April 2025. However, she will remain a councillor for the time being. Mr Simmers further confirmed that the nomination process for selecting a new mayor will begin in due course.
The municipality would like to take this opportunity to thank Mayor Rabie for her invaluable contributions to good governance and sound decision-making during her term. It has been a privilege to work with her in making Overstrand Municipality one of the best run municipalities in the country.
