Thanks to the Overdrive Digital Platform, all registered library members in the Western Cape will be able to download eBooks and audio books FREE of charge to their smart devices.

All it takes is installing Overdrive’s Libby App on your smart device.

Residents who have joined any library in the Western Cape need not re-register for this service.

When you log in, simply use the 13-digit number on your library card as your username and your date of birth – dd.mm.yyyy (include full stops) – as your password.

Keep in mind that this is an additional service and that the eBooks and audio books on offer may not necessarily be available in the library. This is because these books are subject to varying licensing agreements that are managed by the Western Cape’s provincial library service.

Initially, the database of the books that can be downloaded electronically will be rather limited due to financial constraints. This database will, however, be expanded over time.

Non-members who wants to access our e-resources, can register at any one of the municipal libraries.

out a membership form and handing the completed form
in at their local library, together with a copy of their ID and latest municipal account.
