Many roadblocks will be conducted throughout the month of March and April at various locations in the Overstrand.
The R43 De Kelders roadblock saw traffic officers stopping vehicles to check that they were roadworthy. The officials also checked driver’s licences.
Among the offences listed at the Pearly Beach Cross and R43 were failing to wear a seatbelt, driving without a license and driving vehicles with worn tyres.
At the R44 Kleinmond Heuningkloof roadblock several fines were issued for violations such as overloading and expired vehicle license discs.
During a roadblock held on the R43 Kwaaiwater, motorists were fined for not wearing seat belts, not stopping at stop streets and driving without a license.
We urged road users to ensure they obey the rules of the road and to be courteous to fellow road users.
Always remember that drinking and driving is a serious crime. Random Breath Testing (RBT) units operating in the Overstrand can intercept you at any time, day or night
