It’s World Book Day on Tuesday, 23 April 2024 – a day to celebrate books and the joy of being able to read. Whether one fancy memoirs or fiction, audiobooks or ink on paper, World Book Day is a day meant to encourage everyone to pick up a book and start reading it.

To kick off the week-long celebrations, Overstrand Libraries will offer a ‘fine free’ week for anyone with overdue book during 22 – 26 April 2024.

Patrons are strongly encouraged to take full advantage of this period to return all overdue books to our libraries. We also ask residents to report lost books and offer to pay for their replacement.
