The temporary water restrictions in Greater Hermanus and Kleinmond were lifted on 3 November 2023.
“This means that Overstrand residents can, for example, use hosepipes any time of the day.”
The Overstrand Executive Mayor Dr Annelie Rabie did, however, ask residents not to view the lifting of the temporary water restrictions as a “green light” to waste water. “Water remains a precious and scarce resource. Please continue using water wisely,” she said.
The water services by-law clause 42(1)(f) will remain in place, which requires that no irrigation with municipal water takes place between 09:00 – 17:00 daily.
