The Overstrand Municipality, Overberg District Municipality together with the landowner will conduct a fuel reduction burn at Grootbos today, 25 April 2024.
They will be supported by three Working on Fire (WOF) teams, Volunteer Wildfire Services (VWS) and the Fynbos Trust, as well as neighbouring landowners.
They expect to complete the burn by the end of today. Mop-up and guarding will continue for 24 hours, or as deemed necessary by the Incident Commander.
