Overstrand Municipality’s contactor for the upgrade of the storm water infrastructure in Hermanus will commence work in the Hermanus Industrial area.

The anticipated start date for the road closure in Mimosa Street and Prillewitz Road is Monday, 18 January 2021, weather permitting. The upgrade should not take more than eight weeks.

The Mimosa Street lane closure will be from the intersection between Mimosa Street and Prillewitz Road in front of Glassman in order to install the storm water pipelines.

Vehicles turning into Mimosa Street from the R43 Main Road will have the option of using the detour route through Arum Road to access the industrial area. The alternative option is for these vehicles to continue with Mimosa Street and turn into Prillewitz Road.

The vehicles turning from Swartdam Road into Mimosa Street will be unaffected by the lane closure because they will be able to drive along Mimosa Street to access the R43 Main Road.

Vehicles turning from Prillewitz Road into Mimosa Street will only be permitted to turn RIGHT into Mimosa Street.
