The ‘no swimming’ advisory for the Onrus lagoon has been lifted on Friday, 7 January 2022.
According to the Overberg District Municipality’s Health Department, who is responsible for recreational water quality of estuaries, the warning signs can be removed as they are satisfied that the water is within the acceptable range for public recreational use.
The warning signage was put up on 3 January 2022 after an electrical fault occurred on the Onrus sewerage pump station resulting in a spillage.
