Seon Swartz has been appointed as the new Director of Community Services at Overstrand Municipality as of 1 March 2024.

Swartz’s vast experience over 30 years of local government includes serving in different municipalities such as Stellenbosch, Langeberg, Bergrivier and Breede Valley.

Prior to his appointment at Overstrand, he was employed as the Director of Community Services at Breede Valley Municipality for six years, where he was responsible for more than 500 employees and had ten managers directly reporting to him.

Swartz holds various traffic related qualifications and obtained his honours degree in public administration at the University of South Africa (Unisa) in 2007.

He is married to Dione and they have a son and grandchild. The Swartz family now reside permanently in Kleinmond where they have had a holiday home for the past 5 years.
