Overstrand Municipality has successfully completed the token-identifier reprogramming of its pre-paid electricity metering software, ensuring that meters will continue to function properly.
With the current software on all pre-paid meters in South Africa set to expire in November 2024, the Municipality is pleased to announce that all of its 23 274 meters have been upgraded well ahead of the deadline.
Achieving a 100% success rate did not come easy, and Overstrand Municipality would like to extend its heartfelt appreciation to our residents for their co-operation and to our dedicated staff, who went above and beyond to ensure that everyone received the message and understood the urgency thereof.
Please note that this update excludes pre-paid meters for consumers who buy electricity directly from Eskom. They should contact Eskom with queries regarding the upgrade of prepaid meter software for the TID rollover.
