A video posted on social media yesterday showed black bags left outside the Pringle Bay mini drop-off after hours. Overstrand Municipality kindly reminds residents that bags should not be left outside the facility. The drop-off is open daily from 08:00 to 16:00, including public holidays, so please plan to dispose of waste during these hours.
Solid waste team service (empty) the drop-off facility twice a day, in the morning and late afternoon.
In addition to our day shift employees, the Baboon Monitors will also be assisting with monitoring at the drop-off before and after their shift to keep the baboons away from the waste, should any be in the area.
After consultation with the Mayor, a decision was made to finance the upgrade and animal-proofing of the Pringle Bay mini drop-off with municipal funds. As such, it has been added to the draft CAPEX budget for the new financial year (2025/26).
Currently, the drop-off is receiving a lot of after-hour deliveries from residents and businesses in the area. If at all possible, please adjust your operating style to deliver waste and/or recyclable materials during operational hours so that our staff members can better manage the waste and minimise the potential for animals to access the disposed waste.

KLEINMOND transfer station off Overhills access road (builders’ rubble, garden waste and general household waste) is open weekdays from 07:30 – 18:00, Saturdays and Sundays 08:00 to 16:00 and public holidays 08:00 to 16:00.
BETTY’S BAY garden waste drop-off (garden waste only) is open Mondays to Sundays and from 08:00 – 16:00 and public holidays from 08:00 – 16:00.
