Overstrand Executive Mayor, Dr Annelie Rabie, welcomed representatives from the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) in Hermanus earlier today, 10 October 2023. 

The armed forces are currently busy planning for operations within the Overstrand related to the protection of our marine resources.

Mayor Rabie officially welcomed the teams and pledged the support of the Municipality for this endeavour.  She urged all members to take pride in wearing their uniform and to always uphold and protect the integrity of the SANDF.

As particulars of the operations are classified, this notification serves to inform the public of their presence in the area.
