Development in the Overstrand has over the past years gone through an enormous growth spurt. As one of the top municipalities in South Africa, set within the natural beauty of this area, it is clear why we are a popular destination of choice.

With growth comes growing pains and we need to address some of the issues such as limiting impact on the environment with allowing selective development and growth.

A key priority in moving forward is to ensure we have the necessary sensitivity towards the environment and workable infrastructure in support of development.

As part of our relook into development we would like to invite all estate agents, developers and landlords to an open and frank discussion on a number of issues, from the municipal signage by-law, planning, construction, deviation applications, and a myriad of potential issues we would like to streamline in future.

Too often do we receive town planning applications where the new owner or tenants has not been made aware of the legislative requirements, by-laws and restrictions.  This then triggers applications to town planning with sometimes severe complications and unhappiness from the applicant that could have been avoided.
