Numerous requests have been received mostly from businesses in the Kleinmond/Betty’ Bay area, to allow them to continue with the pre-booking system for tanker services.
However, after due consideration, it was decided not to accede to this request as the Municipality does not provide a dedicated service to businesses.
Overstrand Municipality has also made it much easier to book a tanker service request by adding a dedicated icon for tanker services on our Collab Citizen App which is fully functional for Android and iOs devices.
The app could be used from anywhere in the world. For people with holiday homes, this means that you can book the service two or three days before you arrive.
To download the mobile application, go to your phone’s app store (Google Play Store, iOs Ap Store or Huawei App Gallery).
Once you are registered, you may request the service by simply clicking on the tanker service request icon. Remember to enable the ‘notification’ option for the app on your phone to receive real time notifications / updates when the service is completed.
You can follow up on feedback on your request by opening the Service Requests button on the app and selecting ‘My List’. You will see a list of your requests and when you tap on a request, you will see the status (for example: assigned – meaning we have received your request) and your reference number.
You can then click on comments to see feedback on your request made by us to you and you can also type in additional comments for us to take note of (at the bottom of the screen – add comments) any time until the request is completed. We will be notified that you added a comment, and we will respond to you as soon as possible.
This way you can keep track of all communication until we have completed the request without physically phoning the Municipality for the service.
